Malaysia Train the Creator (TTC) | neOOne Associates Sdn Bhd

We were brought in by Lafarge Malaysia to design and deliver their in-house train the trainer program called Train the Creator (TTC). During the 4-month program, NeOOne’s founders, Yasmin and Juara, trained Lafarge’s in-house subject matter experts (SMEs) in the necessary skills to design their signature programs from scratch. The program included 4 days of training on learning fundamentals, 9 sessions of individual guided coaching and mentoring, and a finale session where participants showcased their final product and delivered their signature learning activity.

ACCELERATED LEARNING (AL)

Accelerated Learning (AL) is a systemic approach to facilitation that draws on interdisciplinary research and best practices to provide a roadmap to guide us in creating learning programs that have lasting positive impact.

AL begins the process of learning support before participants come to a learning program and supports learning on the job and in learners’ life.

Systemic: AL provides processes to determine how different aspects of the system effect the learner and the learning (i.e. family, culture, organizational structures, their cognitive belief system, their paradigms, values and norms, etc.)

It includes a variety of methods to work with limiting factors in ways that enables a shift in thinking, the development of critical and innovative thinking, and more effective actions and behaviors. It creates the kind of learning that fosters deep learning and transformation.

The design element in AL is represented by the AL cycle which is used to design the impact that is needed for the learning program. It is a SIX phase cycle that comprise of the LEARNER PREPARATION phase, the CONNECTION phase, the ACQUISITION phase, the PRACTICUM phase, the INTEGRATION phase and the APPLICATION phase..

AL is also supported by seven pillars that allows deep learning to happen in an AL environment. This seven pillars are: FACILITATOR, ARTS & CULTURE, BELIEF AND MIDSET SHIFT,LEARNER CENTRIC, ENERGY MANAGEMENT, TECHNOLOGY, REVIEW STRATEGY, INTERACTIVITY, AND PLAYFULNESS.

HUMAN-CENTRED DESIGN

We use Human-centred Design for all our consulting work.
It is a framework that allows us to make sense of the design challenge before we propose learning and development solutions.
It maps out the ecosystem of problems faced by our clients and creates clarity for them.
In neOOne, we use the LUMA Method—a system of practising human-centred design—to develop solutions for clients.
LUMA is great for our human-centered consulting work as it offers a vast array of tools and techniques for solution design.

GAME-BASED LEARNING (GBL)

Game-based Learning is a form of structured play that:

stimulates experiences congruent to the experiential context of a pre-determined learning objective.
encourages learners as it triggers lively discussion on learning concepts.
bridges the knowledge gap among learners in a light-hearted and fun learning environment.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING ( EL)

We believe experiential-led learning is the key to facilitate an empowered learning experience.

Experiential learning enables the learner to appreciate their learning experience by processing it cognitively, through feeling and reflection of their experience.

neOOne’s EL Philosophy is inspired by Kolb’s Learning Cycle: “Learning is the process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience. Knowledge results from the combination of grasping experience and transforming it.” –David A. Kolb (1984)
